About Our Presentation Skills Course
Today, presentation skills are needed in most professions. This entails getting ones message across effectively and clearly. This entry level course is for learners who have never attended presentation skills courses, or who have not put what they have learnt into practice. It has been developed to improve participants’ perceptions, confidence, and approach needed to deliver competent professional presentations.
The course looks at the communication chain, and covers body language, pace, rhythm, cultural differences and listening skills, as well as other skills required in order to present an interesting and compelling presentation.
The learners have the opportunity to give a short presentation, which is replayed with feedback.
This course takes place over a period of four days, for four hours a day. It can be held over 2 full days, but we recommend the 4-day option. Depending on numbers, this course can be held over 3 days or 6 days, for four hours per day.
Basic Course Outline:
• Vocal Skills including tone, emphasis, pace and rhythm, and and how these can change listeners’ perceptions
• Pronunciation and projection – intercostal diaphragmatic breathing, and intelligibility
• The communication chain
• Preparation, planning and presenting
• Understanding cultural differences
• Reducing nerves
• Dealing with questions
• The importance of active listening
